Nuts and Bolts

Location: This group will continue to meet in person at 3724 Jefferson St, Suite 207 Austin, TX 78731.

Attendance and Payment: As a group member, you are an important and valued part of the community and conversation. Your commitment to the group is for the academic year (September – May). Each group member gets one “free” absence, because life happens. After your one free absence per year, you are responsible for payment on any additional missed meetings just like you'd pay if you attended.

If you know you will miss a meeting, a heads up is greatly appreciated. Please email me at maryellen@westfamilytherapy.com or send me a text to 512.201.2995 if last-minute. Thank you!

As the group leader, If I ever need to cancel a session (due to weather, illness or other emergency), I will let you know ASAP via text and email, and there will be no charge for that meeting date. If I know in advance that I'll be out, our founder Dr. Elizabeth Sylvester may sub in and lead that session. If weather forces a cancellation, we may pivot to Zoom instead of cancelling outright. I'll let you know ASAP via text and email either way.

Occasional hybrid format: Every now and then, life happens and someone may need to join by video call. That’s fine, but there's something about being in the room together that's hard to replicate on a screen, so it's not something we want to make the default. I am always happy to hear your thoughts if the group ever wants to revisit this.

Payment for each seminar meeting is due by the meeting date.

Payment options:

• Per meeting: $75, due the day we meet

• Per semester: $300 (Fall) / $225 (Spring)

• Full year: $525

Semester and year prices include your one free absence. If you end up attending all 8 meetings, we'll settle up at the end of the year.

Payment methods:

Check (payable to “Mary Ellen West, LCSW-S”), cash, or credit card (enter your specific payment amount).

I will provide you with a payment receipt via email. (Credit card payments using the link above will auto-generate a receipt.)

Continuing Education Credit:

September’s meeting provides 3 Ethics CEU hours (due to additional outside homework) and subsequent meetings provide 1.5 CEU hours each.

To receive a CEU certificate for a session, you'll need to attend, pay, and complete the brief survey provided at the end of the meeting. CEU certificates will be emailed in PDF format within 7 days after the group meeting.

For those needing documentation: Continuing education contact hours for this seminar are provided by Mary Ellen West, LCSW-S, (TX License No. 41415) Board-Approved Supervisor (Texas Board of Social Worker Examiners, Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council); qualified CE provider for social workers under TAC 781.501 subsection (e)(6). (This wording will be included on your CEU certificate)

Please double check with your licensing board to ensure compliance with your specific requirements.

Confidentiality Expectations:‍ ‍As licensed professionals, we are all already bound by HIPAA and our own ethical codes, but as a reminder, please treat anything shared about clients or personal experiences as confidential and keep it within the group.

Feedback:‍ ‍I want this seminar to be valuable and enjoyable experience for you, and genuinely welcome your feedback! Please don’t hesitate to provide it on the surveys for each session, face-to-face, or via email, voicemail, text, or carrier pigeon.

Thank you for being a part of this group!
